Motor lock with powerful hook bolt that locks after each passage

STEP 350S-DN is a powerful and fast motor lock with a patent-pending Day and Night function and FreeDrive^®. It can handle evacuation, re-entry and fire protection while providing a significantly higher intrusion resistance.

The powerful hook bolt locks out after each passage, which creates higher intrusion resistance – around the clock. The lock can handle several million openings, just as fast as an electric strike.

With a true Day and Night function – the way it should work

The STEP 350S-DN features a built-in split function that can be set to day mode and night mode.

• During the day, when people are using the premises, the lock is in day mode. To exit from the inside, simply press the handle, which retracts the hook bolt and latch bolt simultaneously.
  In day mode, the lock is approved in class 2A, 2B and evacuation acc. to EN 179.
• When the premises get empty for the evening, the split function can be blocked and night mode activated. The handle on the inside of the door then becomes completely fixed in its position and can no longer be pressed down. This means that the insurance companies' requirements for "approved locking device" are met and that you can ensure locking class 3.

Thanks to these features, it’s an ideal choice for any type of facility that is empty at night, but frequently used by many people during the day.

With unique FreeDrive^®

The FreeDrive^® technology disengages the motor and gearbox every time the lock is mechanically opened. This minimizes wear when using a thumb turn, key or emergency exit device. Locks with FreeDrive^® are therefore advantageously used together with STEP Exit in doors on evacuation routes, and can be used thousands of times every day.

Control unit with smart functions

The ST500C control unit uses encrypted communication OSDP AES-128 for locking, unlocking and status indications. It has multiple selectable AUX outputs and handles relocking or re-entry.

The demand for security is increasing, and security doors and perimeter protection have become an essential part of planning for both residential and commercial buildings. Several manufacturers today offer solutions with STEP 300 series for RC3 security doors:
