StepLock Access's advanced cloud-based infrastructure delivers security on par with Swedish banks. It provides a security level comparable to traditional on-premise systems, but with the added benefits of scalability, availability, and user-friendliness that only a cloud-based solution can offer.
Swedish servers and dual daily backups
All data is stored on Swedish servers with continuous monitoring and real-time updates. Built-in security features protect against intrusion and unauthorized access, while real-time mirroring and twice-daily backups minimize the risk of data loss.
Activated security features
The following features are built-in by default:
- SSL. Active SSL certificates ensure encrypted communication between the server and end-user, so no data is sent in plain text between the user's device and the web portal.
- ReCaptcha. The system includes ReCaptcha bot protection, requiring users to verify their identity before login—preventing automated login attempts. Suspicious traffic triggers blocks to stop further login attempts.
- BankID. Optionally, users can authenticate with Swedish BankID at login.
- Encryption. All sensitive data is encrypted.
Optional add-ons for even higher security:
- TOTP. Time-based One-Time Password (TOTP) via the Authenticator app can be added for two-factor authentication, requiring a unique code in addition to the username and password.
- Whitelisting. Customers can whitelist specific public IP addresses, limiting web portal access to trusted locations, such as your office only.

However, this is an outdated system with no future-proofing options. You cannot add virtual products with mobile access.
