Solenoid handle lock for perimeter protection and internal locking, with door automation
STEP 130 has exactly the same great features and technologies as STEP 110. The difference between them is that STEP 130 has an AutomaticLatchBoltâ„¢ and is therefore adapted for door environments where you want increased accessibility.
Ideal for daytime locking and internal locking in offices, schools, hospitals, industrial facilities, and other shared spaces.
AutomaticLatchBoltâ„¢ with double function
The AutomaticLatchBoltâ„¢ gives the solenoid handle lock a double function.
- When the door is opened with the door handle, STEP 130 works just like a normal solenoid handle lock with a classic latch bolt.
- When the door is opened electrically, the AutomaticLatchBoltâ„¢ can be fold and thus enables opening with door automation. Immediately after the door is opened, the AutomaticLatchBoltâ„¢ extends out and anchors itself in its position, functioning again as a classic latch bolt.
STEPs patented Preload technology
Our unique STEP Preload technology allows the door to unlock, even when the lock is exposed to high preload pressure.
With patented DirectDrive®
The DirectDrive® function provides direct operation and a smooth, responsive feel when using the door handle. It allows the lock to open even under high door pressure and introduces an entirely new level of experience for solenoid handle locks.
With split function
The split function allows the exterior handle to be controlled electrically, while the interior handle is operated mechanically. The mechanically controlled side has a sturdy attachment where the split function is secured by stainless steel and hardened parts.
For door environments with fire requirements
Certified in fire technical class E/EI120 acc to. EN 14846.
For door environments with evacuation requirements
Certified for evacuation acc to. EN 179. Go to the Exitguide to find matching emergency devices for STEP 130.
Built-in Re-entry function
STEP 130 gives you the option for re-entry when a fire alarm has been triggered and/or after mechanical exit when using a STEP Exit emergency exit device installed in the cylinder follower position.
The re-entry function is reset by a reset signal or a restored fire alarm.
Separate indications for handle and cylinder
The microswitch for the cylinder follower is not affected when the door handle is used. Therefore, it is possible to distinguish between evacuation via the cylinder follower/alarm during key use and opening via the handle.
Two potentials from two different systems
STEP 130 can manage control signals from two different power sources, for example from an access control system and a door operator.
True indication
Door status is indicated for a closed door with the AutomaticLatchBoltâ„¢ extended.
Many smart features
- Multi-voltage 12 – 24 V DC.
- Reversible electrical/mechanically controlled side.
- Reversible to fit both right and left hung doors.
- Reversible fail secure/fail safe function.
- Integrated microswitches indicate closed and interlocked mode, as well as handle operation.
Simple and flexible commissioning
Configuration of the selectable functions is easily accessible and conveniently done from the outside of the lock case.

Functional description
- The AutomaticLatchBoltâ„¢ locks/unlocks electrically via an open signal from the access control system, code lock, push button or similar.
- The AutomaticLatchBoltâ„¢ is retracted mechanically via the cylinder follower with key from the exterior or key/thumb turn from the interior side.
- The AutomaticLatchBoltâ„¢ is delivered in fail secure function to ensure fire resistance.
- The lever handle solenoid is reversible in fail secure/fail safe function.
- Exterior lever handle is activated electrically via access control system, code lock or similar, and retracts latch bolt.
- Interior lever handle is always mechanically controlled and retracts AutomaticLatchBoltâ„¢.
- Reversible to fit both right and left hung doors.
- Reversible electrical/mechanically controlled side.
