Electric strike for high‑security environments with door automation/pull handle
STEP 28E Secure is a powerful electric strike plate with two separately controlled rotating cams, one for hook bolt and one for latch bolt. The design allows the lock to combine high intrusion security and evacuation, with door automation or pull handle.
Suitable for installation in doors subject to high-frequency use where uncompromising security is essential, such as banks, prisons, military facilities, offices etc.
For door environments with the highest security requirements
- Certified for burglary protection in Grade 7 acc. to EN 14846.
- Certified for burglary protection in class 2A, 2B acc. to SSF 3522
The electric strike plate withstands a high breaking strength of 1 500 kg and has an electrically controlled anti-tamper mechanism that protects against manipulation of the locking function. Full breaking strength is achieved in both fail-safe and fail-secure function.
Handles evacuation and re-entry
STEP 28E Secure can be used in emergency exit doors together with an emergency exit lock case acc. to EN 179. It is also suitable for use on doors equipped with an emergency release button.
When the door has been unlocked via key, evacuation device, emergency opening button or fire alarm, a mounted lever handle allows for re-entry. For continued access control, a pull handle on the exterior side can be used, which allows the door to be opened via code.
Integrated bolt contact and barrier contact
A built-in bolt contact detects whether the door is open or closed, while an integrated barrier contact indicates whether the door is locked or unlocked. This means you can see that the door is actually locked, not just closed.
With patented STEP Preload technology
Modern door environments place high demands on sound insulation and indoor climate. This requires tightly sealed doors, which in turn results in high preload pressure.
Several factors can further increase the strain on the lock, such as unsynchronized door automation, snow or gravel on the threshold, or a slightly warped door.
STEP Preload technology ensures that STEP 28E Secure can unlock even under preload pressures of up to 500 kg. This patented technology withstands comparison and sets the standard for the entire industry.

Functional description
- The upper rotating cam/electric strike is activated electrically via access control system, code lock or similar, and becomes unlocked (fail safe function).
- The upper rotating cam/electric strike is activated electrically via access control system, code lock or similar, and becomes locked (fail secure function).
- The lower rotating cam/electric strike is activated electrically via access control system, code lock or similar, and becomes unlocked.
- The access control system detects, due to the bolt contact whether the door is closed or open.
- The access control system detects, due to the barrier contact whether the electrik strike is locked or unlocked.
- Choose if it should fit a right- or left-hung door, be in fail safe or fail secure function, 24 V or 12 V and what bolt width it should be adapted for.
