Powerful, fast motor lock that handles a very high opening frequency
STEP 550 is a strong motor lock built to withstand heavy use. The lock case is made of stainless steel with modern bolt placement with the hook bolt placed in the center of the lock case. It is designed for door environments with the toughest intrusion protection requirements, while also withstanding a high opening frequency. STEP 550 can be used as a night lock or as an extremely secure day lock.
Strong and manipulation-protected hook bolt
The hook bolt is exceptionally strong, with a breaking strength of 56 kN (5,600 kg). A manipulation protected barrier automatically blocks the hook bolt upon locking, while an indicator detects the bolt’s position. This ensures that you can trust the door is truly locked.
For door environments with the highest security requirements
- Protection class 1, 2, 3 acc. to SSF 200.
- Certified for burglary protection in Class 5 acc. to SSF 3522 and Grade 7 acc. to EN 12209.
- Approved for use in lock systems for many security doors in class RC3 and RC4.
- Includes panic locking function.
With unique FreeDrive®
The FreeDrive® technology enables the locks motor and gearbox to disengage every time the door unlocks mechanically. This means that the wear minimizes when using lever handle, knob, keys or emergency exit device. Locks with FreeDrive® are therefore ideal for use with STEP Exit on emergency exit doors and can be operated thousands of times daily.

Control unit with many smart features
ST500C control unit uses encrypted OSDP AES-128 communication for locking, unlocking and status signals. It can manage up to two motor locks, which can be controlled individually or synchronized.
The control unit has multiple selectable AUX outputs and supports features like re-locking or re-entry.

Doors that must meet explosion protection requirements should also be equipped with motor locks that ensure the highest level of intrusion security. The motor locks in the STEP 500 series can be used in the following explosion-protected doors:
- Daloc S93 (explosion class EPR1)
- Daloc S95 (explosion class EPR4 (also available as EPR2 and EPR3)).
Class EPR4 is the highest level of explosion protection.

STEP 550 Motor lock
Powerful and fast motor lock for doors with high-security requirements
STEP 550 is one of the most secure motor locks on the market. It is a fast and powerful lock equipped with smart FreeDrive® technology. It can combine fire and evacuation requirements with the highest intrusion protection requirements and can also be placed in high-frequency used door environments.

Functional description
- The hook bolt locks/unlocks electrically via opening signal from access control system, code lock, push button or similar.
- The hook bolt lock/unlocks mechanically via cylinder follower.
- The latch bolt retracts mechanically via the lever handle follower with lever handle, from the interior and exterior side.
- The latch bolt is reversible to fit both right and left hung doors.

- Certified in Class 5 according to SSF 3522.
- Certified in Grade 7 according to EN 14846.
- Certified in Grade L for corrosion, temperatures and humidity, which corresponds to high requirements according to EN 14846.

STEP Safety strike plate/cover box ST9015
ST9015 is a patented safety strike plate/cover box.
ST9015 is a cover box, a fully mechanical version of the electric strikes STEP 40/90 Preload. The box is a perfect alternative to recieve a mechanical function, or while waiting for an electric strike to be inserted. The cover box fits in all frame recesses that are made for STEP 40/90 Preload and can be mounted together with exactly the same faceplates.
STEP Lead cover ST1283
STEP lead cover is made of stainless steel and fits both wooden, steel and aluminum doors.
The spring has a wide inner diameter of 12.8 mm which facilitates the passage of the cable.
