Electric strike STEP 18 Secure

– A deadlock electric strike for safety and security

STEP 18 Secure provides a high level of resistance to burglary attempts with durable and rapid locking and unlocking. Suitable for installation in doors with frequent entries and exits despite stringent requirements for intrusion protection. STEP 18 Secure is in RC version approved for locking security doors up to RC4.

Approved in fire resistance class E/EI60.

Proven evacuation with emergency handle or evacuation button

STEP 18 Secure can be combined with an emergency evacuation lock per EN 179 to ensure high evacuation safety in the event of fire or other evacuation situation. It can also be mounted along an evacuation route that opens with an emergency release button.

For high frequency opening

With STEP 18 Secure you attain high security for doors that will be opened frequently and where you want the door to be locked between each passage. Full break resistance is achieved in both with fail secure and fail safe functions.

RC-classified STEP 18 Secure for security doors

STEP 18 Secure in RC version has been approved for security doors up to RC4 (requirements for door in protection Class 3) together with ASSA 511, according to EN 1627.

STEP’s Preload technology

A common problem is that a door is subjected to pressure, for example, because the door is a little skew or that gravel or snow has gathered at the doorstep. STEP 18 Secure is equipped with STEP’s Preload technology that allows the door to unlock, even if subjected to pressures of up to 500 kg.

  • Seals and pressure differences – The Preload function enables the door to always be unlocked even when the door lock is tensioned against the electric strike.
  • Door automation – The Preload function combined with rapid unlocking means that the door opens quickly and without risk of becoming stuck.
  • Evacuation door – The Preload function ensures that a fire alarm can release the lock, despite pressure against the door by crowds, seals, pressure differences or warped doors.

Functional description
  • The rotating cam is activated electrically via access control system, code lock or similar, and becomes unlocked (fail safe function).

  • The access control system detects, due to the bolt contact whether the door is closed or open.

  • Choose if it should fit a right- or left-hung door, be in fail safe or fail secure function, 24 V or 12 V and what bolt width it should be adapted for.
  • STEP 18 Secure in RC version is approved for security doors up to RC4 (requirements for door in protection Class 3) according to EN 1627, together with ASSA 511.
